Fight Bac! webinar carries efficacy message to consumers
Hand Hygiene: Efficacy Update and Educator Tools was the title of Fight Bac!’s webinar where academia checked in on the value of SaniTwice® in water-scarce situations commonly facing the away-from-home public. These include outdoor fairs, sporting events and petting zoos.
Dr. Don Schaffner, a Distinguished Professor at Rutgers University’s School of Food Science, reviewed the science of SaniTwice in the context of handwashing where water was not available or so inconvenient that soap-water washing would not be a reasonable option. He shares his research that proves the handwashing technique matters. A 5-second no soap hand wash is compared to a 20-second wash with soap and water.
Dr. Schaffner then covers the research showing that the SaniTwice technique is as effective as a soap-water hand wash (starts at 23:33 and ends at 25:04.) [Video no longer available.]
