On entering your hotel room, place of work or study, wash your hands on arrival. Touch high-touch surfaces with care.
On the first day of a recent hotel stay, a 4 star establishment, a MarX stamp was used to leave an invisible X on what we considered the 12 surfaces to most likely be touched frequently and cleaned infrequently – light switch, telephone, alarm clock etc. We refer to these as the Dirty Dozen.
On the third day of the stay we checked all 12. Seven were cleaned. Pictured is an example of the audit in action and the remaining X, disclosed with the aid of a UV light. We then took a corresponding ATP reading, 988 RLU’s, to gather further insights.
