The InnoCircle™ is Handwashing For Life’s team of trusted advisors. Its central claim is a science-based view of hand hygiene innovation that advances food safety and business growth, while giving members a clearer role in shaping its benefits.
The informal operation of the InnoCircle started when seventeen professionals gathered to agree on a non-numerical definition of a Clean Hand:
A Clean Hand in the foodservice and food processing industries is one that is unlikely to transfer pathogens from the hand to food, surfaces, or directly to other people.
They went on to sponsor a study to convert the words to numbers, the primary language of worldwide business. With this foundation, the group set out to build a decision-support bank for operators, aiming for risk-based handwashing as part of that science-based view of innovation.
Handwashing For Life recognizes these volunteers for the expertise and value they contribute in each category, and for the specific benefits their participation brings to the group.
This collective of independents gives members a clear window into handwashing and an incubator for growth. Its role is to help Handwashing For Life turn InnoCircle input into concept prototypes and research candidates, while clarifying the benefits members gain from that process.
Many promising ideas fail to develop due to misalignment with current priorities, misunderstanding, or premature rejection by line management. Handwashing For Life safeguards new concepts so InnoCircle members can document, nurture, and benefit from diverse input.
InnoCircle members fund research studies based on their interests and available R&D budgets. They also serve as category innovation consultants and research authors, shaping the work, its outcomes, and the benefits they receive from participation. All Members are considered allies by virtue of their working together.
Those donating $4,500 or more in a given year are designated Continuity Partners for that year, announced at year-end.
